Planning applications

• Planning applications in Hatley since 2004.

Applications are announced on South Cambridgeshire District Council’s (SCDC) Planning Application Search system.  This allows you to look at any application in Cambridgeshire, with records going back to 1948 (the latest are first) – including a Hatley section.

The Parish Council receives notification of all planning applications concerning development in Hatley.  Residents whose land is adjacent to the property where a development is proposed also receive notification.

Applications are discussed by the Parish Council either at a regular meeting or at an extraordinary meeting, which will be advertised on the village notice boards and on this website.  Members of the public are welcome to attend these meetings.

The Parish Council submits its comments to South Cambridgeshire District Council.  Members of the public may submit their own comments to SCDC.

The SCDC website also includes Pre-application planning advice, with the costs and links to application forms etc – called collectively the Case file.

Current application(s)

• Land to the west of the A1198 Arrington  The application for the erection of a temporary, 80m high meteorological mast – not far from Hatley Wilds – was withdrawn on 28 January 2010; no official reason has been given, although, apparently, the local airfields, the National Trust (for Wimpole Hall) and Marshall Aerospace all objected.  However, on 10 February, the Cambridge News reported that Coriolis Energy, the agent of Falck Renewables the developer, as saying 'that things were still moving ahead' – and that a new application is 'likely again in a few weeks' time'.
  
  
• Barn Farm, East Hatley  The planning application was considered by the SCDC Planning Committee at its meeting on 13 January 2010.  Following a site meeting at Barn Farm, temporary planning permission consent was approved by 6 votes to 5 for a mobile home for a temporary two year period, subject to conditions.  A copy of the planning decision is available as a PDF file.
  
  
• As at 8 March 2010, the SCDC website lists the status for 38 East Hatley and Moat Farm, East Hatley as 'Pending decision'.  There are links to the relevant pages of the SCDC website below.
