Fancy a nice bike ride?
Strawberry 50 – Sunday, 1st September
The Strawberry 50 has become a successful mass-participation cycling event – nearly 800 people took part last time out in 2017.
It’s open to cyclists of all standards and is meant to be a fun and relaxed way to enjoy cycling along the country roads of south west Cambridgeshire.
Participants range from young adults to veterans, from occasional cyclists to keen club riders. Everyone cycles at their own speed or with friends and family.
There are two routes to choose from – the full 55 miles (beginning in Gamlingay), or a shorter 28-miler.
The courses are well signposted with marshals on hand throughout the day. Water stops and food and drink are available for sale around the course, offering a chance to take a rest, pick up a snack and chat with other cyclists.
For those of us in the Hatley area, the 55-mile route starts / finishes at Gamlingay Eco Hub, while the shorter 28 mile route starts and finishes at Histon and Impington Recreation Ground (CB24 9LU).
All the details are on the Strawberry 50 website.
