  • Buy a weekly newspaper.
  • Take your dog for a walk.
  • Have a friendly chat on the phone.

If you require any of these services, please call

Margot Eagle on 01767 651 649

We will not ask for money before your items are purchased and only on receipt.

If you know of anyone in Hatley who might be in need of this service please pass our details on.

Gamlingay and Hatleys Car Scheme

The Gamlingay and Hatleys Car Scheme, run by local volunteers, will take you to doctors, hospitals and other places. Phone 07519 493 701 to arrange a door-to-door service – there is a modest mileage charge, which will be confirmed when you make a booking. Use this link for more detailed information.

Local Covid-19 vaccinations

The Greensands Medical Practice in Gamlingay has a news summary page on its website with links to its news statements.

In essence, you will receive an invitation to be vaccinated through a letter from the National Booking Service for Covid vaccinations.

‘Please,’ says the Greensands website, ‘do not contact the practice to book.’ They don’t say why; we’re told ‘phoning the NHS 119 works very well’.

National information on coronavirus

The government’s coronavirus advice.

There’s also this interactive map showing local infection rates – put your postcode into the search box and use the wheel on your mouse to enlarge the map.

Any test under the NHS Test and Trace service is free – as are vaccinations

Yes, it’s free – so if anyone rings you purporting to be part of the NHS Test and Trace service and ‘demands’ money, just put the phone down because their call is a scam.

The NHS website has all the details about its Test and Trace programme, including what should happen if you are contacted, so well worth reading.

  • NHS Test and Trace app information.
  • Greensands Medical Practice is unable to arrange tests for coronavirus.  Tests are available online or by calling 119.
  • Vaccinations are also free on the NHS.
