Vacancy for a parish councillor

An opportunity to become a Hatley councillor

Hatley Parish Council has a vacancy for a parish councillor.

The council comprises five members: a chairman, vice-chairman and three others… but currently there are only two ‘others’ because of the recent resignation of Cllr Carole Cooper – which is why we’re looking to co-opt a new parish councillor.

So…

  • Do you enjoy living in Hatley?
  • Do you want to make a difference?
  • Do you wish to serve your community?
  • Do you want to help shape the future of Hatley?
  • Would you like to provide a voice for residents?
  • Are you interested in local current affairs?
  • Do the challenges of being a councillor appeal to you?
  • If yes, then JOIN THE PARISH COUNCIL!

The post is unpaid and the term of office will run until the next election in May 2026.

As a parish councillor you would be expected to attend parish council meetings, which are held at least five times a year.

To be considered for the vacancy you must be…

  • Aged 18 or over.
  • An elector.
  • A resident or worker based within three miles of the parish during the past year.
